Since the latest iPads international debut last month, tablet fever has been firmly in the air and luckily for fashionistas some of the worlds biggest fashion brands are on hand to offer an array of elegant carriers. For ladies or gents wanting a personal touch, the recently launched Initials collection by Bottega Veneta includes an iPad holder which can be customized via the dedicated microsite www.bottegavenetainitials.com.
Meanwhile, an array of creations can be seen on Net-a-Porter, including a glitter-finished sleeve by Jimmy Choo, a laser-cut leather iPad case by Azzedine Alaa and an adorable iPad cover by Lanvin adorned in quirky sketches of the labels creative director Alber Elbaz.
Other houses have kept things more classic: for example Chlo, Yves Saint Laurent and Mulberry favor block colored leather creations, and Stella McCartney offers a chic faux leather iPad sleeve.
Labels including Dolce & Gabbana and Marni evoke their trademark prints for the tablet sleeve: the latters features khaki colored spots, while Dolce & Gabbana offers a leopard-print faux leather variety.
The tendency for luxury tablet sleeves emerged back in 2010, although it truly skyrocketed in the past twelve months of so -- with almost all of the worlds biggest fashion houses now in on the trend. Luxury leather brand Tods was one of the pioneers, and its crocodile leather cases are still among some of the most coveted.
